After the success of Jenny Pockley's solo show, she's now joined by two other artists aiming to capture the energy of our iconic city skyline.
Aliica Dubnyckyj uses much broader brush strokes than you'd expect for a painter of intricate cityscapes. Up close, it all seems a jumble but as you step back everything clicks into place and the city comes to life. We first saw her at the Affordable Art Fair in 2010 and she stood out as one of the most talented painters among the hundreds on display, so our expectations were high for this show.
Daniel Preece takes lack of detail a step further and his work could almost be considered abstract. His expressive style captures the essence of the city and highlights how simple geometric shapes can be used to identify London — the London Eye is unmistakeable.
These three talented artists have their own distinctive takes on painting London, but the variety in styles complement each other to produce an exhibition that will be a crowd pleaser.
London Now: The Olympic City is on display at Sarah Myerscough Fine Art, 15-16 Brook's Mews, W1K 4DS until 1 September. Entrance is free.
