Sneak Peek: Shard Tests Laser Beams And Lights Ahead Of Show

Ahead of what promises to be a fantastic light show on Thursday evening, The Shard has been testing its lasers and search lights late at night, hoping no-one would notice.

Londonist contributor Andy Thornley hastily captured this image from his Clapham Junction flat. Flickr user Endeeci also managed to capture a video and some much better pictures of what we can expect to see on Thursday, while there are some further excellent shots from Wapping in this gallery. The shape of the Shard coupled with the green laser beams make the building look not too dissimilar to a Dalek.

Are you planning to view the light show on Thursday? Tell us where the best vantage point in London is below…

One of the bridges might be good for a close view, but I reckon the sight from Primrose Hill, Stave Hill or some other edge-of-zone-1 vantage point should be good.
