Over the weekend, The Ice Cream Van came to Hackney City Farm. This colourful vehicle, the inspiration of Rebecca Davies, is touring the country collecting and celebrating local folk traditions, from snail racing to bog snorkeling. The Hackney stop-off included the London Scarecrow Championships, inspired by the rural tradition of scarecrow festivals, in which visitors created gruesome miscreations. So colourful was the day, we thought we’d share some photos, taken by José Farinha, with you. The ice cream van’s itinerary over the coming months can be seen here.
