The Chelsea Physic Garden's largest-ever outdoor sculpture exhibition opens today.

Pertaining to Things Natural takes its name from the 17th-century definition of "physic", and is a reminder of the Physic Garden’s founding mission as a place for the study of useful plants, especially those used in medicines.

This exciting new sculpture show takes over the whole of the Gardens, with works installed in greenhouses, the café, the entrance lobby, even the composting area. More than 20 leading contemporary artists have created sculpture, ephemeral land art projects and delicate artistic "interventions" across the Gardens, taking inspiration from the site itself, as well as its history, and wider environmental issues.

Artists involved include Hugo Wilson and Joe Currie, Owen Bullett, James Capper, Annie Cattrell, Greyworld, and Tessa Farmer. David Worthington, Vice President of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, has curated the show.

Pertaining to Things Natural is at the Chelsea Physic Garden, 66 Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London SW3 4HS from today until 31 October. Entrance is included in the admission price: £9 / £6. Visit www.chelseaphysicgarden.co.uk to find out more.
