The three national dance companies of England, Scotland and Wales come together this week to present three world premieres inspired by London 2012 and the coming together of three nations for Team GB.
Dance GB will show off the power and athleticism of Britain’s dancers, thrilling with innovative contemporary choreography playing on Olympic themes.
Scottish Ballet present the high-energy, Run For It. National Dance Company Wales perform a witty take on competitive sports to Ravel’s Bolero — forever associated with Torvill and Dean’s amazing gold medal ice skating win in 1984 — and English National Ballet provide an epic finale with the portentous And The Earth Shall Bear Again.
This special triple bill takes place in a big top at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich this week with tickets from just £10 (promenade/sit on the floor). Not convinced? Watch the trailer.
Dance GB runs 4-8 July in a big top at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Tickets are £10 for promenade (can bring own cushion and sit on floor), £20 general admission seated and £40 for VIP seats.
