Ticket Alert: Alabama Shakes, Jessie Ware, Rancid And More

While you've been geting ready to ride the cable car, we've been keeping an eye on this week's gig announcements. Here's our pick of what's on sale this Friday. Tickets should be available from around 9am.

Alabama Shakes were responsible for one of this year's more unlikely London sights: Russell Crowe was spotted at their debut UK gig in Tufnell Park. Fronted by the distinctively-voiced Brittany Howard, the US southern-rockers subsequently made waves with their debut album, Boys & Girls. They play The Coronet on 16 November and HMV Forum on 17 November. Tickets £18.50 + bf.

South Londoner Jessie Ware is a soul-pop artist with a great voice who played Radio 1's Hackney Weekend. Her first album is due in August and she plays Electric Brixton on 13 November. Tickets £12.50 + bf.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Rancid won't win any marks for subtlety when they visit HMV Forum on 14 and 15 December. But if circle pits are your thing, you'll want to grab tickets to one of these dual-headline shows, which will also see East End punkers Cock Sparrer play a full set. Tickets £30 + bf.

The Gaslight Anthem played a one-off show to a packed crowd at Koko earlier this month, which saw frontman Brian Fallon take a dive off a balcony. Expect similar antics when they return on 15 October, bringing their Americana sound to O2 Academy Brixton. Tickets £21 + bf.

Alt-J are the first band in a while to have named themselves after a keyboard shortcut. Hailing from Cambridge, this art-rock quartet have produced an intriguing and intricate debut album. See them at Electric Ballroom on 5 November. Tickets £12 + bf.

Also booking this week: The Hold Steady's Craig Finn at Union Chapel, Rita Ora at Scala, World Party at the Albert Hall and an extra date for Hot Chip at O2 Academy Brixton.
