Here’s a chance to represent your country – or any country for that matter – pitting your wits and your hands against the rest of the world in an international knock-out tournament of Rock Paper Scissors.
If you’re lucky, the international selectors will nominate you official representative of your nation and confirm your place at the Team Olimpik Rock Paper Scissors Championship.
There are only 32 places in this special, global knock-out contest of pure dumb luck (or fiendish, split-second cold reading). Countries already represented include Great Britain, Leichtenstein, China and Vatican City but the rest of the world is at your feet.
The UK Rock, Paper, Scissors Facebook page offers its top 5 translations of the game name and notes that these countries are still available:
South Africa – Ching Chong Cha
Germany – Schnik Schnak Schnuk
Japan – Janken or Jan Ken Po
Thailand – Janji
Korea – Kai Bai Bo
Pick a nation, form a team of four, register here and save the date: 8 August.
If you’re more of a lone wolf than a team player you can still get involved. The RPS Challenge invites anyone to turn up and play – just be careful with those Wetherspoon pints as there’s wagering involved.
Team Olimpik Rock Paper Scissors Championship and the RPS Challenge take place on Wednesday 8 August from 6pm at the Knights Templar pub, Chancery Lane. Free entry.
