Preview: Sir Peter Blake Talks To Wayne Hemingway @ V&A

See Sir Peter Blake in conversation with Wayne Hemingway tomorrow night, looking back over his 60 year career and discussing their shared love of collecting mass market ephemera.

There will be much of London interest to cram in. In the last couple of years alone Blake has designed a pop art carpet for the new Supreme Court, as well as the Boogie 4 Stu album cover and an egg for this year's Big Egg Hunt (sold for £35k). He's also found time to revisit his most famous album cover (pictured).

An exhibition to celebrate his 80th birthday opens at the Royal Albert Hall on 19 June and another at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester on 23 June. On Sunday 15 July, Hemingway's Vintage Festival — which is sadly outside of London this year, taking place at Boughton House, Northamptonshire — will pay tribute to Peter Blake with an exhibition and a headline show featuring artists selected by Blake.

Wish him happy birthday in London while you can.

Tickets are still available for this talk at the V&A on Tuesday 12 June at 7pm (£9/£6).
