- Mr Punch (and Ms Judy, we hope) celebrates his 350th birthday with the Big Grin Party in Covent Garden Piazza on Saturday and the annual May Fair in St Paul's church gardens on Sunday (free).
- Seek the next big contemporary art star at The Other Art Fair at Ambika P3 (tickets £6 adv).
- Drink up at Kingston Beer and Cider festival at Kingston Workmen’s Club and Institute, all day Friday and Saturday (admission free before 4pm on Friday, then £3, Saturday £2 in).
- The people are gathering... in Caledonian Park for the huge outdoor theatrical happening, Babel until 20 May (£25/20).
- It's the London Pet Show at Earls Court 2, including "Doggie Dancing With the Stars" (tickets £13 adults/£9 kids).
- The World Burlesque Games are on until Sunday.
- Designers and makers celebrate London in handmade things at an exhibition and selling show in gallery@oxo (free entry).
- The incredible London Improvathon starts at 7pm on Friday and finishes 50 hours later on Sunday night, during which time a comic Greek soap opera '2012 BC: Tales from the Greek Games' will be created - watch a 2 hour episode or buy a weekend pass - at Hoxton Hall (tickets £10-£50).
- Explore the ArtHAUS at DegreeArt, Vyner Street (free).
Friday:
- An Evening of Persian Poetry takes place at Persepolis in Peckham from 7.30pm (free but RSVP through Facebook so they make enough tea).
Saturday:
- Watch out for Morris dancers around town as it's Westminster Day of Dance.
- It's been 50 years since trolleybuses stopped running in London and Fulwell Garage in Twickenham holds the Trolleybus 50 Open Day to mark the occasion between 10am-5pm (free admission).
- Experience May in a Day! at Cecil Sharp House with family folk arts including live music, maypole, morris and clog dancing, crafts and more from 2-5pm (tickets adults £6, kids £4).
- London Symphony Orchestra play Stravinsky in Trafalgar Square from 6.30pm (free).
- Festival Live! is a new club night at the Water Rats with 8 live bands on stage from 6pm (£8 on the door).
Sunday:
- Shop at Anita's Vintage Fair from 11am-5pm at 20th Century Theatre, Notting Hill (entry £2).
- If you haven't been to the Horniman's Body Adorned exhibition, today is a good day to go and there's a fundraising plant sale going on in the gardens too from 12-4pm (free entry).
- Take a cream tea in the Great Hall at Queen's House, Greenwich with the National Maritime Museum Royal River Afternoon Tea from 2.30-4pm (£12/10).
