Revealed: Plans For Broadgate Circle

A couple of weeks after its impending refurb was announced, Building Design have obtained a render of what the new Broadgate Circle will look like.

Keen to squeeze ever more retail reddies out of the crowds of commuters moving around Liverpool Street station, the plan by Arup (architect of the original Broadgate Estate) will add new units surrounding the performance space. Six additional kiosks will be created at ground level, and the performance space itself will be lowered, with the steps removed and a few bits of greenery added to spruce things up. Happily, it will continue to have an ice rink during winter.

The new space will be overlooked by the fortress-like new UBS building that is being built on the site of the bank's existing headquarters, despite objections from some quarters and a botched attempt last year to list the 25-year old estate.
