Boutique Film Club Comes to Stoke Newington Town Hall

Hot on the heels of The Yard, the latest boutique film screening series comes to Stoke Newington this month.

Hosted by The Flicker Club (who describe themselves as "veterans of the boutique cinema experience"), the fortnightly events will take place in the Art Deco Council Chamber of Stoke Newington's Town Hall, and run throughout the year.

On the bill are classic films, all adapted from novels, alongside special guests, readings from the source material, Q&As and talks. First up is the 1948 film The Red Shoes on 10 May, with a reading of Hans Christian Andersen's original story. There'll also be a bar serving cocktails and champagne; and the popcorn will be dished up by Dragon Den's Love Da Popcorn boys with their vintage popcorn machine.

Tickets are £10 or £8 depending on where you sit. Red shoes, presumably, optional.

The Red Shoes is showing on 10 May from 7pm to 11pm at Stoke Newington Town Hall, Stoke Newington Church Street, Stoke Newington, Hackney, London, N16. Tickets from £10 or £8 from here. Visit theflickerclub.com to find out more.
