Latin American* art is in demand at the moment, with recent shows including Doris Salcedo’s ongoing exhibition at White Cube, Lygia Pape’s recent exhibition at the Serpentine gallery and Gabriel Orozco’s retrospective at the Tate Modern last year. Of all the works held in the Tate collection by young artists, a quarter of them are by Latin Americans.
Pinta is an art fair that brings the latest and greatest art across the Atlantic to showcase the talents at work in contemporary Latin American art. It aims to show how inspiring that part of the world can be for artists, and how the region has influenced their works.
*For clarity, Latin America includes South and Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico.
