Street Artist Olek Accused Of Littering

If you've wandered through the Brick Lane area of late, chances are you'll have seen the crocheted street art of Olek, who currently has an exhibition on at Tony's Gallery, Sclater Street. Not everyone's a fan of the gaudy creations, however. Tower Hamlets council, in wonderfully Victorian language, classes this Brick Lane piece as "things so deposited on highways as to be a nuisance". It's now "under investigation" by the waste enforcement folks, and could land the artist an £80 fine for littering.
