More than 300m above the streets of London, a group of brave builders are assembling the final parts of the Shard's spire. We took these photographs of them working on Sunday.

Once the spire has been assembled, which should be this week, it will extend Europe's tallest skyscraper to its full height of 309.5m.

The building is due to be completed in June.
