Where to find funny next week

Sunday: Sebright Working Men's Club brings the traditional 'glitz and glamour' back to Sunday afternoons with comedy and variety, with 'top turns' promised at the Sebright Arms, E2. 'Ladies welcome. And southerners' from 3-6pm (£5).

Monday: Holly Walsh comperes Happy Mondays at the Amersham Arms with Josh Widdicombe, Simon Day and more from 8pm (£4+bkg).

Tuesday: Help Simon Amstell work through his new material at Invisible Dot, Camden from 7.45pm (£6).

Wednesday: Stay up late for Daniel Kitson's work in progress show at Soho Theatre — also Thursday and Friday — at 10pm (£5).

Thursday: Episode 2 of Star Search — the talent show lovers' talent show — is hosted by Trevor Lock at Deansways, Bethnal Green at 7.30pm (free but email to reserve a ticket).

Friday: Find out if Andrew Lawrence is the Best Kept Secret in Comedy over two nights at the Leicester Square Theatre at 8pm (£16.50).

Saturday: As part of the Guardian's open weekend The Guide hosts a comedy show in Battlebridge Room, Kings Place featuring Colin Hoult, Sara Pascoe and Josh Widdicombe from 6.45pm. You'll need to get a pass.
