Last Chance To Register For Hackney Weekender

Today is the last day to register for tickets to the Radio 1 Hackney Weekender, so pick  a nice photo to upload  and head to the site before 11pm. The festival takes place 23-24 June.

Once registered you will two opportunities to apply for a ticket for the Olympic celebration - 11am on Sunday 25 March and 4pm on Monday 26 March, online or by phone.

There are over 100,000 free tickets available, so there’s more chance of getting in than there was for the Olympic Volley Ball, for the BBC event on Hackney Marshes.

50 per cent of tickets will be reserved for those from Hackney and the other five Olympic boroughs Barking and Dagenham, Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest sharing  15 per cent, with allocation on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately the rest of London is lumped within the national allocation despite accommodating the games’ infrastructure.

London superstars, Florence and The Machine, Jessie J, Leona Lewis, and Bombay Bicycle Club will be joined by Jack White, Lana Del Rey and Jay Z- who will definitely be appearing in East London unlike his BFF Kanye West.

In other festival news, Paul Simon joins Bruce Springsteen as a Hard Rock Calling headliner. Simon will play his phenomenal Graceland album in full at the Hyde Park festival on Sunday15 July, the day after The Boss.
