Things To Do In London On The Cheap: 13-19 February

Monday: The Wind in the Willows comes to life at the Bank of England Museum with a costumed storyteller regaling little visitors with the adventures of Toad, Ratty, Badger and Mole all day, all through the week (free entry).

Tuesday: Find out how beasts seduce each other with Animal Magnetism at the Grant Museum from 5.30-8pm (£4 on the door, glass of wine included).

Wednesday: Enjoy art and live music at Rich Mix with Showcase Cities from 6-11.30pm (free entry).

Thursday: Drop by Wellcome Collection for a night exploring Pilgrimage through talks, walks, film, chat, photos and fun stuff from 6-10pm (free).

Over in Greenwich, the National Maritime Museum stays open late for satire and poetry with the Steampunk Opium Wars from 6.30-10pm (free).

Friday: Camley Street Natural Park invites you to sing the praises of its apple trees with a winter wassail from 11am-3pm (free).

Saturday: Participate in a bee workshop all about cooking with honey at Walworth Garden Farm from 10.30am-4.30pm (free but you must book).

Take the CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle LGBT History Walk meeting at the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill at noon and wandering through Camberwell and Borough, ending at Cross Bones Cemetery with a blessing from The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (free but a donation appreciated).

Sunday: The Bethnal Green Vintage Social is the evolution of the Affordable Vintage Fair. It's not just about retro shopping, there's live entertainment, DJs, tea and board games too at York Hall, from 1-7pm (£2 entry).
