Stephen Fry To Perform At Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

Stephen Fry is the latest addition to the increasingly-brilliant summer season at Shakepeare's Globe.

He'll play the priggish and vain steward Malvolio in Twelfth Night, part of a cast that already had us very interested, including as it does Mark Rylance and Samuel Barnett. Ticketing has, unsurprisingly, gone mad for the three-week run, and its timing in September and October suggests that if you want to make sure of seeing it without being rained on, you should get a seated ticket now. The usual Globe fallback option of 'wait until a nice day then buy a fiver Yard ticket' is unlikely to work on this one. Or there may be another option later: the Guardian wonders whether the production might have half an eye on a West End transfer.

If it's Mark Rylance that appeals more than Mr Fry you should set your sights on Richard III, which also features Barnett. Another tempting prospect is Jamie Parker reprising his wonderful Hal, this time as Henry V.
