Artist and illustrator, Anna Bruder is opening a pop-up "florist" in Carnaby this weekend, just in time for Valentine's Day.

The project, called AlineFlorist, offers tulips, roses and geraniums with a difference: they're not the real, perishable deal, rather hand-drawn paper versions made in Anna's signature white backgrounds with black marker outlines. They'll certainly last longer than your usual Valentine's Day fodder.

As well as the flowers, at AlineFlorist you can request a poem, created on-the-spot by rapper, poet, writer and actor Arji Manuelpillai. The flower comes lovingly wrapped up with your bespoke poetry. Prices start at just £5 for a single flower and poem.

Even if you're not up for the subdued schmaltz offered in Carnaby this weekend, we still recommend you spend some time in Anna Bruder's world. Take five minutes to click around the artist, theatre designer and prop maker's website: you can see incredible props from Shrek, the Globe, and Betty Blue Eyes, as well as set designs for other theatre shows, and more fantastic art projects. Fun, eh?

AlineFlorist is at 63 Broadwick Street, Carnaby, London, W1 from Saturday until Tuesday next week. Visit www.carnaby.co.uk/news to find out more.
