Things To Do In London On The Cheap: 23-29 January

Monday: Go to Trafalgar Square for an extra special dose of sunlight with #TrafalgarSun from sunrise till 7.30pm (free)

Check out the crazy coffins in the Royal Festival Hall (free).

Tuesday: See Toaster film 'Everywhere' at Village Underground, Doors open at 7pm, the first 30 people in the queue will receive exclusive pieces of Toaster art, each hand painted and signed (free).

Wednesday: Take a look at Hornsey and Muswell Hill in the 50s with a film screening at Bruce Castle Museum 7 for 7.30pm (free).

It's free entry to the Rob Roy pub for a very Scottish celebration of Burns Night with a proper piper from 6pm (food and drink to be paid for).

Thursday: Go to Fortean London featuring Mark Pilkington, Geraldine Beskin & John Rimmer 7.30-10(ish)pm upstairs at The Bell pub, 50 Middlesex Street E1 7EX (£3/£2 concessions).

Friday: The Imprint Festival at The Serpentine Gallery’s Centre for Possible Studies, 21 Gloucester Place W1U 8HR begins with contemporary art, storytelling, paper dolls, music and much more from noon, evening event from 6pm (free but donation appreciated)

Saturday: Find out about Swedenborg's philosophy of love at the Swedenborg Birthday Lecture & Music from 4.30pm (free but book: nora@swedenborg.org.uk).

It's the Big Garden Birdwatch. Spend an hour twitching looking out for avian visitors to your backyard or local park.

Sunday: Remember the Javanese tiger at Southbank Centre with shadow puppets and gamelan from 1pm (free).

Join the Chinese New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square and Chinatown (free).
