Spiritualized have announced a one-off headline show at the wonderfully ornate Hackney Empire on 19 March 2012, while former Spice Girl Mel C plays the not so picturesque O2 Academy Islington on 1 March.
The Hackney Empire show will be the musical spacemen’s first London show since playing the Royal Albert Hall this autumn, and is the latest in many grand venues the group have played, including The Barbican, Sydney Opera House and even the World Trade Centre.
Blood Brothers star and sporty somersault type, Mel C, Makes her Islington appearance in promotion of her new (fifth!) album The Sea.
Tickets for both events go on sale 9 December, 9am for Mel C, 10am for Spiritualized.
For the hipsters and fans of cutting-edge multi-media math-electro, South London's Breton will play Corsica Studios, 28 March, in support of their debut album Other Peoples Problems.
