Ticket Alert: The Dark Knight Rises Prologue

You don't have to be a comic book geek to have been impressed by Christopher Nolan's films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

The next one, The Dark Knight Rises, will feature Anne Hathaway as Catwoman plus Tom Hardy as terrorist leader Bane and will be out in July 2012. The keen-eyed amongst you may have spotted the camera crews out in parts of London this summer: Liam Neeson has been seen around and in May the Farmiloe building in St John Street, Clerkenwell again doubled for the Gotham Police Department's station house.

Should you not want to wait until next summer for a glimpse of what is likely to be the final Batman film for some time (Nolan and star Christian Bale have both intimated that this is their last film of this series), there will be brief teaser screenings this month in the form of a six-minute prologue.

The UK previews will be shown in four IMAX cinemas as a prelude to the latest Tom Cruise stealth-'em-up Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with the only London screenings being at the BFI IMAX from 21 December. If you think this is like buying the cereal just for the toy or if you're feeling particularly lazy, curious, impatient and/or poor, possible prologue spoilers are already on the internet.
