London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy 11-17 December

Where to find funny next week

Sunday: Who isn't a fan of Roger Black, with his boyish good looks and gold medal winning 400m skillz? Comedian James W Smith is such a fan, he's set up a club night in his honour. (We may be overemphasising the Roger Black element of this night.) Sketch trio Jigsaw, Ben Target, John-Luke Roberts, Amelia Guildea, Matt Highton, Jessica Fostekew and Sam Fletcher pay tribute (or maybe not) at The Green Man (7pm, £5).

Monday: Fans of sketch comedy will be in seventh heaven at the Lyric Theatre: The Pajama Men, Idiots of Ants, Anna Crilly and Katy Wix, Will Andrews and Greg McHugh, Late Night Gimp Fight, The Penny Dreadfuls and Two Episodes of MASH all take to the stage (7.30pm, £11-£36).

Tuesday: Edinburgh winner and general insane person Adam Riches headlines So Comedy at the Soho Theatre (seriously, we cannot recommend this guy enough. Never have our faces hurt so much). Diane Spencer, Rob Beckett, Late Night Gimp Fight and MC Laura Carr complete the line up (8pm, £15 / £12.50).

Wednesday: Tom Allen's doing the MCing chat show style down at ComComedy tonight, with guests Jay Foreman, WitTank, Jollyboat, Grainne Maguire and Charlie Partridge (8pm, £7 / £5).

Thursday: Like opera? Like improv? Combine the two at Kings Place with Impropera's Christmas Ding Dong (8pm, £12.50).

Friday: We're very fond of Joe Lycett; there's something of Kenneth Williams about him, but with gags more than double entendres. Catch him doing new material at the Pleasance (8pm, £5).

Saturday: Udderbelly is back on the Southbank for three nights: we reckon tonight's (just) the best line-up, with Isy Suttie, Joel Dommett and The Boy With Tape On His Face headlining (7.45pm, £15).
