4.2 Reasons To See Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy On Stage

Cult favourite The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (a.k.a. H2G2) is to return to the London stage next year in a new production designed to appeal to fans old and new.

H2G2 will be getting back to its roots as highlights from the entire Hitchhiker's saga are re-created by some familiar faces from the very beginning of the show.  If you need more convincing, here are some more facts:

1. H2G2 is probably the most popular BBC comedy radio series, having been converted into six books, a TV show, three stage adaptations and a film. Moreover, you don't have to be a sci-fi geek to appreciate the bizarre characters, strange situations and the po-faced pokes at more strait-laced science fiction

2. Performing each night will be the H2G2 original radio cast including Daniel Craig's cousin Simon Jones as token earthling Arthur Dent and New York arts professor Mark Wing-Davey as the two-headed Zaphod Beeblebrox, both of whom reprised their roles in the TV version. As well as that core crew, there will be a series of VIP Guest Voices Of The Book and supporting actors from the Hitchhikers continuum in all its phases.

3. There are only three London shows, all at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley. They are not until June 28-30 so plenty of time to buy a new towel and/or choose your outfit.

4. Tickets are all under £30 excluding booking fees. That should leave enough change from a £50 note for a pan-galactic gargle blaster or two at the interval.

Furthermore, and this could be the clincher for some, the shows do not clash with the annual Douglas Adams commemoration event known as Towel Day.

If you haven't bought tickets yet, don't panic. They went on sale this week so there should still be some available over here.
