- Catch new Japanese film at Barbican (tickets £9.50).
- If you need your food gluten, wheat or dairy free, head for Southbank Square for the Free From Food Festival (free entry).
- See short films and take part in discussions about women in film at the UnderWire Film Festival, Bermondsey (£5 a session).
- Bloomberg SPACE hosts dancers and choreographers from The Place doing stuff for the final COMMA commission, which ends Sunday (free)
- Skate at Somerset House is now open until 22 January (tickets from £7.50) and there are plenty of other places to skate around town too.
- Drop by Winter Open Studios Art Show at Wimbledon Art Studios and buy stuff directly from the artists (free entry).
- Enjoy Kew's huge arboretum in autumnal hues (adults £13.90, children free).
- Are you going to one of the Little Noise Sessions in Hackney?
- The Revolution Will Be Sexual at Arcola Tent until Saturday night with East End Cabaret (£12).
- Although it seems way too early, Winter Wonderland is now open on Hyde Park (admission free, but pay for rides, skating etc).
Friday:
- It's Last Friday for the South London Art Map so explore exhibitions in Deptford, Bermondsey and Peckham 6-9pm (free).
- The wonderful Serafina Steer will be playing her harp and singing her brilliant wry songs at the National Portrait Gallery's Late Shift till 9pm (free).
- Keep things simple with 50 Years of Minimalism at Kings Place, classical music on Friday night and rock and roll on Saturday (tickets from £9.50).
- Celebrate Nelson and raise money for Shelter at Gosh! Comics, Soho (free entry).
- The Andy Warhol Factory Party promises a trippy night of performance art, beautiful people and psychedelia at Adam Street club, 10pm (£15 advance, limited tickets £20 on the door).
Saturday:
- INTERCOURSE at the ICA is a day of strange happenings including breakfast with artists, live creating and hairstyling, horse races, cheese and film, not to mention a recreation of Battleship Potemkin on the Duke of York steps (some free, some ticketed, check the website).
- Dulwich Craft Fair is on in St Barnabus Church Hall from 10am-5pm (£2.50 entry).
- What ho, chaps there's another Tweed Run starting at 11am Covent Garden outside sponsor Rugby Ralph Lauren's shop and breaking for tea in Chelsea.
- Kensington Town Hall opens for Dragonmeet - the roleplaying and collectable card gaming convention - at 10am (£8 adv, £10 on the door).
- Go and see the cloud installation in York Hall, Bethnal Green between midday-5pm - for one day only and great for kids (free entry).
- Hoxton Street Market gets festive with an early Christmas party to accompany your food, fashion and creative shopping between midday-6pm.
- Children's author and illustrator, John Burningham, is signing books at London Transport Museum shop between 2-4pm.
- The London Latin American Film Festival present three films at Roxy Bar and Screen from 3pm (£6).
- Molten Festival begins with Barking Illuminations and a Lantern Parade that kids will love to get involved with, from 4.30pm (free).
- The London Iranian Film Festival finale includes an awards ceremony and screening of There are Things You Don't Know and Please Do Not Disturb at The Apollo, Piccadilly (tickets from £12).
- Party at the Crisis Christmas fundraiser at the Egg Xmas Party (tickets £13 advance).
- Watch Twin Peaks all night at Riverside Studios (£50)
Sunday:
- Frock Me Vintage Fashion Fair is at Chelsea Town Hall 11am-5.30pm (adults £4)
- ITV need you to turn up at the Oval dressed as Santa from 11am and join a mass song and dance for charity show, Text Santa.
- Got Craft? debuts in London at the Tooting Tram and Social between 11am-6pm (£1 entry).
- One of the final concerts from this year's Wimbledon International Music Festival is John Sessions doing WS Gilbert at the Orange Tree, Richmond at 2.30pm (£15).
- Festa Umbela presents a Samba-Reggae Explosion at Rich Mix from 6pm (free)
