Gig Alert: Gruff Rhys and Josh T Pearson @ Spotify Live

The second instalment of Spotify Live at the Lexington features two of the most amazing solo musicians it’s possible to see, Gruff Rhys and Josh T Pearson, play one of the most intimate venues they’ve played…. Ever.

The amazingly cool free gig on November 30, sees Super Furry Animals frontman Rhys play a headline set, capping off a year in which he won the inaugural Welsh Music Prize, released the album (of the year?) Hotel Shampoo, as well as recording a special Athiest-Xmas EP, full of "Turkey-free new tracks for the festive season"

But the inclusion of Josh T Pearson makes it a must see gig. His debut solo album Last of The Country Gentlemen, was named Rough Trade’s 2011 album of the year and he headlines the grandiose Barbican on November 26. The Texan legend’s previous band Lift To Experience are a thing of marvellous infamy sounding like  My Bloody Valentine played with loaded shotguns, pretty amazing.

Ok, it may come over a bit fanboy-ish, but this show will be amazing. As with the first Spotify Live gig, tickets for the show, jointly promoted by The Guardian, Rockfeedback and Spotify, are free on the door on a first come first served basis from 7.30pm on the night. But it’s a good idea to cross your fingers and toes for one of a limited number of guaranteed entry guest list places via Rockfeedback’s or The Guardian's ballots.

Spotify Premium account holders can apply for tickets by emailing [email protected] . Competitions close midnight Monday 28 November with winners announced via email on Tuesday.

Spotify Live  with Gruff Rhys and Josh T Pearson takes place Wednesday 30 November, 7.30pm, The Lexington 96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB. Over 18 only. It’s First come first served so best to try your luck with Rockfeedback’s or The Guardian's ballots.
