Londonist asks that most pressing of daily concerns: where to go on your lunch break.
Rosalind's Kitchen is a small but lovely take-out cafe sourcing seasonal ingredients from specialist suppliers for its daily changing menu. The location is central and the prices are affordable and in line with what you'd expect for a quality meal so near Oxford Circus and Regent Street (a main and salad will set you back £8).
Londonist popped round Rosalind's last week to sample dishes highlighted from this past summer's Nom Nom Nom charity cook off at the Cookery School across the street (Rosalind's and the Cookery School share the same owner). Dishes were fresh and serving sizes ample. Wild mushroom broth was an ideal and warming autumn soup, while spiced kofte meatballs were hearty and flavoursome, "Japanese coleslaw" was crunchy and refreshing and a lemon drizzle cupcake was a moist delight. A proper black Americano (£2.35) suggested Rosalind's is a good place to keep in mind when in need of a grab-n-go cup of joe.
At first glance, Rosalind's might not appear to be that much better than the competition (though still a lot prettier and friendlier space than those in the immediate surrounding). But after just a glance at the food on offer and a few bites into any meal, Londonist realized it's a lunch option worthy of repeat visits.
