TfL and Recyclebank are teaming up to offer rewards for Londoners getting out of motorised transport and onto their bikes or Shanks' pony.
The plans are similar to Recyclebank's current scheme to get more households recycling: the more you do, the more points you earn, which can be cashed in for offers and discounts at places like Cineworld, M&S and Planet Organic. This travel reward scheme will use your phone to track your movements and allocate points.
A trial will start at the end of the year and is expected to fully launch next spring - the perfect time to start walking and cycling more, now with an added incentive to get fit and healthy, as well as cutting pollution (and saving on those increased fares).
