Music Festival Preview: Nail The Cross IV

The annual Nail The Cross festival has found a new home at the Shacklewell Arms for two days of mind-crushingly exciting music over October 21-22.

In its fourth year, Nail The Cross has left its New Cross nursery for the virility of East London, and brought with it a line-up of rumbling electronica and droning pop over two nights. Previous years artists include The XX and These New Puritans.

Jointly curated by promoters No Pain In Pop and Lanzarote Nail The Cross IV is the definitive event for establishing acts that are so ahead of the curve they make Twitter seem old hat and slow.

This year’s highlights include a UK exclusive show by Los Angeles soulful songstress Nite Jewels - think lo fi pop and deep beats - dreamy rave from Manchester’s D/R/U/G/S and wonderfully crushing raw brain house from Patten - the name to watch in 2012.

Croydon’s Pariah and South London’s Halls reclaim dub-step from the pop-charts and twist it into a post James Blake soundscape of a night bus to Valhalla,  while Echo Lake propel their dreamy droning indie-pop through E8.

The full line up is:
