Club Preview: Breakout @ Proud

Ever wondered which bands are currently creating the biggest A&R buzz or who you should be name dropping over the next 12 months? Well luckily Breakout, a monthly club night at Proud Camden, is promising the chance to “rub shoulders with industry and media” and showcase the best new music talent from the last 12 months.

Although it’s unclear how all the industry (and we’re assuming music industry) is going to fit into Proud, Breakout will certainly be a fantastic opportunity to catch some exciting new artists, and it has the backing of industry bible Music Week. Pledge Music, who help artists generate funding for themselves, are lending their support to the Acoustic Stable.

Main room headliners Caan, featuring former Ou Est le Swimming Pool member Caan Capan, top a bill which includes tropical indie-poppers Polarsets from the North East (of England not London), quirky Detroit duo Dale Earnheart Jr Jr (who are rather jolly good), and rockers The Dig.

Pledge Music’s acoustic stage features Charlie Simpson - fresh from launching Oxjam 2011 and appearing at the BT Digital Music Awards - with support from Sophie Madeleine, who’s been championed by Steve Lamacq, and Tallulah Rendall who’s worked with Madonna and Bjork. Ok, we’re impressed now!

DJs All Night Long will be on hand to keep you dancing, well, you can guess how long.
