Ticket Alert: Gigs on Sale Friday 2 September

With festival season just about wrapped up for another year, here are some gigs to keep you going through the winter. Tickets to these should be available from around 9am on Friday:

  • You have to respect Welsh alt-rockers Manic Street Preachers, who've kept on doing what they do best for 21 years. To celebrate, they'll be playing every one of their 38 singles live at The O2. See them on 17 December.
  • Playing the same venue just three nights earlier are indie stalwarts Kasabian, who have a new album due on 19 September. Expect a good singalong and a rowdy crowd - it's probably best just to get the beers in and go with it. Tickets available here.
  • At Reading Festival last weekend, raucous punk-rockers Fucked Up got a circle pit going in a half-empty tent at 1pm. So goodness only knows what topless front man Damian Abraham will manage if the Scala is full on 31 October. Brace yourself if you decide to get tickets.
  • The latest album from US west coasters Death Cab for Cutie has a more electronic feel than the band's previous material, which relied heavily on guitars. To find out what this means for their live show, head down to the Hammersmith Apollo on 16 November.
  • Singer-songwriter James Morrison has enjoyed massive success and brought his polished soul-pop to Wembley Arena in 2009. This time round you can see him in the smaller surroundings of Shepherd's Bush Empire, which he plays on 7 November. Get tickets here.

Also on sale this week: SBTRKT at Koko, Japanese Voyeurs at Barfly, Def Leppard at Wembley Arena and The Chieftains at the Royal Albert Hall.
