Preview: Brentford Festival 2011

Boston Manor House hosts the seventh Brentford Festival in its beautiful grounds this Sunday afternoon.

Live music will entertain from two stages, one in the main field and an acoustic stage in the walled garden. Browse over 100 stalls proffering plants, gifts, crafts, cakes and other goodies. Expect activities and information from local organisations and charities, plus Osterley Bookshop will be there and they are in the middle of a massive sale, bookworms!

Peruse the dog show or the animals from Hounslow Urban Farm. Get drumming on the old bowling green, attack the climbing wall Or do a bunjie jump.

More genteel pasttimes include an antiques roadshow, traditional children's fairground and Jacobean Boston Manor House will be open for tours. Quaff real ale, Pimms or have a lovely cuppa in the tea garden before feeding your face from the many and diverse food stalls.

Make a wish for fine weather, though, as the forecast isn't looking great at this stage.

Brentford Festival takes place at Boston Manor Park, TW8 9JX near Boston Manor and Northfields tube stations on Sunday 4 September, midday till 6pm. Free entry.
