Preview: The Global Party, 15-16 September

Get your passport out* – this year’s most ambitious fundraising initiative is inviting you to party around the globe for charity and, much like the novel on which the idea is based, the action kicks off in the heart of London.

Instead of travelling around the world in 80 days, organisers David Johnston and Lord Fink are hosting 80 parties across the globe in just 24 hours. Taking place at some of the most glamorous international venues, the Global Party will raise money for charities including Sentebale, Pratham and Clic Sergeant. Access to the events – and a string of other exclusive benefits – is granted through a silver key ring, pairs of which can be obtained from the charities in return for a £3,000 donation.

As well as visiting locations in LA, Cape Town, Beijing, Buenos Aires and, er, Bournemouth, Londoners can stay closer to home and party at Boujis, Whisky Mist, Bungalow 8, or if they fancy a short train ride, aboard the Orient Express.

Furthermore, just as Phileas Fogg set out from London, so too does the Global Party, with a launch party at the Natural History Museum on 8th September. The evening will feature food, drink and (mostly yet to be announced) entertainment, and tickets for this event range from £500 - £1.000 per person.
