Reading and Leeds are bringing the festival season to a close this weekend, which means the slow trickle of bands back to London but there are still plenty of gigs to see you through bank holiday weekend.

Tonight: garage rockers Tweak Bird are at the Lexington. Art pop masters CSS play an instoreat Rough Trade East (Tuesday's XOYO gig is sold out).

Tuesday: early '00s emo rockers (without the eyeliner) New Found Glory are at the Electric Ballroom. Former Strangelove frontman Patrick Duff plays new material from his third album at the Old Queen's Head, Islington.

Wednesday: alt-metal thrashers Deftones are at Shepherds Bush Empire with Pulled Apart By Horses.

Thursday: punk super-group OFF! are at XOYO with Canadian hardcore behemouths Fucked Up. If you'd prefer less sweat with your audience participation, Jason Webley and his accordion will be at Underbelly Hoxton.

Friday: gloomy Italian post-punks Father Murphy are at the Victoria. 60s inspired popsters Shimmering Stars are at Shacklewell Arms.

Saturday: Hadouken! headline Hornchurch Live Festival (yes it counts as London - it's inside Havering Borough and you can get there by tube).

Sunday: The Almost Famous Festival is an all-dayer at Holloway's Horatia pub featuring The Dandies, We Are Animal, Cold in Berlin and other up and coming, fame hungry bands.
