A pane of glass plummeted from one of the UK's tallest buildings yesterday. Part of the logo from the Norman Foster-designed HSBC Tower fell over 150 metres onto the building's western entrance, closing North Colonnade while inspection took place. There are no reports of any injuries.
In a slightly odd statement, an HSBC spokesperson told reporters "We don't know why it fell out, but we are confident there won't be any more coming out." Photos here.
