- The ICA present a weekend celebrating Arab Culture as part of the Mayor's Shubbak festival. Interference is a three day exploration of the relationship between art, agency and agitation in the Arab world and beyond with screenings, conversations and workshops. All free.
- The Kensington Palace Party is a free summer celebration taking place outside the Palace on Saturday and Sunday. Encounter dance through the ages, do art activities and hear historical stories between 12-6pm.
- Get tickets on the door for London Film and Comic Con at Earls Court 2.
- Be riverside for the Kingston Regatta.
- The Pop Up Festival of Storytelling is in Coram Fields and the Brunswick Centre.
- It's free to meet the scientists at the Royal Society Summer Science Live exhibition
- Free film screenings at the Old Royal Naval Hospital, Greenwich this weekend with Memento, Groundhog Day and Time Bandits.
- Free circus entertainment fills Theatre Square for the Watch This Space Festival on the Southbank
- It's Youth Dance Weekend at the Scoop, More London.

Friday:
- Watch the Ping Pong tournament at Wilton's Music Hall. Free for spectators but do spend some money in their bar and/or make a donation to help save Wilton's.
- Join the Spoonfed/Art Licks Peckham Art Tour, 6.30pm, £10.
- Take in a classical concert as part of City of London Festival: Goldner String Quartet play St Bartholomew-the-Great, £15 (includes a glass of wine). Be seated by 7.25pm latest and try not to cough cos it's going out live on Radio Three.
- Jumping music and wild dancing at Rich Mix, Bethnal Green tonight with Gypsy Soundclash, 8pm, £6 advance.
Saturday:
- The Bank of England has an open day as part of the City of London Festival. Get a tour of bits usually closed to the public and visit the museum - free of charge - between 9am-3.30pm.
- The Music & Makers Market will be on the Queen of Hoxton's rooftop with a creative, vintage, retro fete. Admission is free between 11am-6pm but you'll want to buy stuff and there will be DJs and the bar.
- Bands so new they've barely formed pack the bill at 1234 Shoreditch
- There's an old fashioned summer fayre on Islington Green courtesy of Amnesty between 12-4pm with with home made cakes, tea, games, music and other fundraising fun.
- Celebrate Bastille Day (a bit early) at the Charles Lamb Pub, Islington. Expect a petanque competition and all things Gallic, including great French food. From midday.
- Do an Historic Bloomsbury Treasure Hunt with Culture Seekers London. Meet Russell Square Gardens, 1.30pm. Teams of 5 people will try and find the answers to 15-20 written clues, all of which can be found on blue plaques, statues or historical landmarks.
- Schwing Along With Wayne's World at the Prince Charles Cinema, 8.30pm, £10
Sunday:
- The Stinging Netil art fair brings affordable art and live music to a car park off Broadway Market, Hackney from 11am-8pm.
- The last Primrose Hill Vintage Fashion Fair of the summer sets up at Cecil Sharp House between 11am-5pm, entry £3.
- The Soho Festival fills St Anne's Gardens, Wardour Street with stalls, live music, a Champagne and Pimms Bar and the Museum of Soho between 12-6pm.
- Balham Food Festival starts today
- Kilburn Grange Park hosts music, dance and much more for Kilburn Festival between 1-7pm.
- Catch a Peter Sellers' double bill at the Jewish Museum, Camden from 5.30pm. Watch Doctor Strangelove and The Mouse That Roared with a glass of wine and explore the museum galleries for £15.
- Wing your way into the Utopian Arts Festival opening and private view at Parlour Gallery, Queen's Crescent NW5.
