  • The Bank of England has an open day as part of the City of London Festival. Get a tour of bits usually closed to the public and visit the museum - free of charge - between 9am-3.30pm.
  • The Music & Makers Market will be on the Queen of Hoxton's rooftop with a creative, vintage, retro fete. Admission is free between 11am-6pm but you'll want to buy stuff and there will be DJs and the bar.
  • Bands so new they've barely formed pack the bill at 1234 Shoreditch
  • There's an old fashioned summer fayre on Islington Green courtesy of Amnesty between 12-4pm with with home made cakes, tea, games, music and other fundraising fun.
  • Celebrate Bastille Day (a bit early) at the Charles Lamb Pub, Islington. Expect a petanque competition and all things Gallic, including great French food. From midday.
  • Do an Historic Bloomsbury Treasure Hunt with Culture Seekers London. Meet Russell Square Gardens, 1.30pm. Teams of 5 people will try and find the answers to 15-20 written clues, all of which can be found on blue plaques, statues or historical landmarks.
