New Food Festival Preview: Savour Chiswick, 1-10 July

Chiswick, also known as "the posh bit between Ealing and Hammersmith", has more than its fair share of high-calibre dining options. There are gastropubs, bistros, brasseries, ice-cream parlours and proper grown-up restaurants to be found throughout this small generally well-heeled community.

From today until next Sunday, many of these establishments will be celebrating this year's Savour Chiswick festival with special events. Tomorrow, food writer and broadcaster Richard Johnson will be at Waterstones on the High Street and on Sunday Chiswick House hosts "Summer Sunday Soiree", an evening of cocktails and canapes. Next week's events include a barbecue at the Napa Restaurant, a comedy night and a summer fair with the grand finale being a pop-up restaurant with sustainable restaurant guru Arthur Potts Dawson.

Many of the local restaurants will also be serving up signature dishes. We recommend checking out the Michelin-starred La Trompette, the Bib Gourmand-winning Charlotte’s Bistro or the charming Sam's Brasserie. Chain restaurants like Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Giraffe are also getting in on the act.

Some of the events require pre-booking. Please check on the official website for more information.
