Our choice of where to find funny this week
Sunday: Rich Fulcher (yes, the guy from The Mighty Boosh) previews his Edinburgh show Tiny Acts of Rebellion at Hen and Chickens (9.30pm, £6.50). It’s based on his book of the same name – go and get some ideas for sticking it to the man, yeah?
Monday: The Railway Tavern in Clapham’s got an amazing season of Edinburgh previews, starting with the brilliantly dry Henning Wehn (8pm, £10).
Tuesday: Mitch Benn’s Distraction Club returns to the Phoenix tonight (8pm, £10 / £7.50) with Howard Read, Barry from Watford, Ria Lina, Nick Doody, Matt Blair and The Segue Sisters.
Wednesday: Andy Zaltzman and the disgustingly young Ahir Shah preview their new Edinburgh shows at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room (8.30pm, £8).
Thursday: Richard Herring previews his new show What is Love, Anyway? alongside Canadian comic Dana Alexander and her Edinburgh show New Arrival, at Crack Comedy: Islington (8.30pm, £9 / £8 / £4 NUS).
Friday: Bush Hall Presents have come up with another cracking line-up: Tim Key, Simon Munnery, Miles Jupp (familiar to parents and students as Archie from Balamory) doing his posh boy thing and about-to-be-stellar James Acaster (7.30pm, £15).
Saturday: Head to Udderbelly for Arthur Smith’s Pissed Up Chat Show – the comedy legend will be sober, his guests hammered. Fun will ensue (9.30pm, £15.50).
