International Morris Dance Collaboration: Must Come Down

Think Morris Dance think bells on ankles, beery old blokes with beards and one dude with an accordian? Think again. Morris Offspring - literally, the offspring of 1970s folk fans - yank the traditional steps, figures and music of the Morris into contemporary England, continuing the evolution of ritual folk dance for the 21st century.

This month the young troupe perform with their North American friends, Maple Morris in a new collaboration at Cecil Sharp House: Must Come Down.

There will be an accordianist, but she's Becky Price and doesn't have a beard. She will be joined by singers, a fiddler and clarinetist, and storyteller, Debs Newbold. All that should add up to:'An exuberant spectacle of vitality and passionate dance wrapped in a cloak of beautiful music, stunning singing and heart-stopping stories.'

Must Come Down is at Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road NW1 7AY on 28 July, doors open 7.30pm. Tickets: £15 (concessions £10). Call the box office on 020 7485 2206.
