If you have a so-far-unrequited hankering to explore one of the coolest performance venues in London but have lacked the readies, this could be your chance.
Earlier this year, IdeasTap and Old Vic New Voices joined forces in the hunt for new creative talent and came up with six names, all of whom were given a large bag of money, the help of a production team and the run of the Old Vic Tunnels for an evening. Under the banner of "Coming Up Later", the half-dozen very different productions are spread over three evenings, namely this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
On the first night, Ophelia Bitz will be bringing the tone down to subterranean levels with ArtWank, her rude, lewd but rarely crude concoction of vintage porn and lectures by sex industry professionals. Nicola Cross' The Lonely Hearts Comedy Club takes over the Bunker Bar with a showcase of works by up-and-coming comedians, all linked by the theme of love (or lack thereof). Details of the other four productions can be found here.
Tickets are free but you will need to email “Guest List” to firstname.lastname@example.org unless you would prefer to burrow under the far end of Waterloo station's Platform 1. We suggest going with the former option.
