Takeaway - The Musical

TAKEAWAY

Happy Family Takeaway Shop, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Gerry Raffles Square, E15 1BN

Open 7.30 to 10.30pm Tuesdays to Saturdays, matinee orders Saturdays 2.30pm

SET MENU A, collection only

STARTER 1: EDDIE WOO WANTON SOUP A sexed-up young British-born Chinese Eddie, with two girlfriends and a disappointed father. Comes without A Levels or plans for the future

STARTER 2: 'GOLDENBALLS' OLD SCHOOL FRIEND AND DELIVERY GIRL DILEMMA Two further conflicting flavours of love interest. Accompanies Starter 1 on a comedy musical journey of self-discovery

MAIN 1: GUNG-HO CHICKEN Selection of romantic misunderstandings, love triangles, filial duty vs. finding your own way, with bonus talent competition climax and generous chunks of hilarious dream sequences featuring Tom Jones.

MAIN 2: CHINESE RAREBIT Big ensemble numbers, mixed with stirring solos, heartwarming duets, sequins, sing-a-long riffs and dance routines. Stephen Hoo as Eddie the new Chinese Tom Jones is endearingly hapless, Natasha Jayetileke as faithful friend Dillon is charming and winsome. Garnished with Shelly Williams in an extraordinary range of characters, adding a taste of Irish priest, failed talent show contestant and Welsh superstar Tom Jones to the  dish.

SWEET: BRITISH CHINESE STRATFORD EAST SPLIT Our signature dish of bananas, nuts and plenty of froth whipped up with bold, catchy, original and shamelessly upbeat showtunes. Will leave you with a sweet but not sickly aftertaste. Acrylic Tom Jones chest wig optional extra (£2.99 for six)
