New Opera & Dance Double Bill @ Royal Opera House

If you have wanted to dip your toe into the array of dance and opera on offer at the Royal Opera House, but haven't known where to start, here's just the ticket.

Cocteau Voices-Duet for One and LaVoix Humaine is a new double bill of opera and dance at the Linbury Studio Theatre. This ROH2 commission sees Aletta Collins - she of Shoes and other good stuff - choreograph the former for five dancers and Tom Cairns stage Poulenc's 'The Human Voice' - a solo performance, sung in English, based around a lover's desperate telephone call.

This modern theatre tucked under the main stage at the Royal Opera House is most likely to take you by surprise. Unlike its upstairs sister, it's unintimidating, informal and intimate - a perfect setting for new work and new audiences alike.

Cocteau Voices-Duet for One and LaVoix Humaine is performed 17-25 June at 7.45pm in the Linbury Studio Theatre, downstairs at Royal Opera House.
