Foyles celebrates London with a week of performances, talks and guided walks at and around the famous Charing Cross Road store.

Everything starts on Saturday with an exhibition of artist Badaude's witty hand-drawn illustrations of the city's architecture and inhabitants (uh-oh, they're talking about us) in the Gallery. Badaude will also be leading a walk around Charing Cross Road on 4 June at 2pm.

There's another walk at dawn on 4 June with photographer Anthony Epes. We say walk, although it's more of a 7.5 hour workshop round London (places are limited to 12 photographers, and is the only event to charge — £85). Then there are concerts by Guerillasound, the Arthur Lea Quartet and soprano Claire Seaton and pianist Robert Hunter.

Seeing as all this is happening around a bookshop there are, of course, some bookish events. Iain Sinclair will be giving the city his inimitable once-over; Leo Hollis looks at 12 of London's buildings; and Nicola Morgan dispenses advice for would-be writers.

All events bar the dawn photography workshop are free, but you'd be wise to reserve your place by emailing events [at] foyles.co.uk.

Listen *Read* See London takes place at Foyles, 113-119 Charing Cross Road, from 28 May to 4 June. For more information see the Foyles events listings. Photo of Iain Sinclair by Joy Gordon.
