It's London Lifeboat Day: Book For The Great Tram Tour Now

Never been on a London tram? Take the Grand Tram Tour this Sunday as two of Croydon's trams are commandeered by the RNLI for a special fundraising ride around the network.

As well as covering 25 miles of the Tramlink network there will be refreshments on board plus music and activities for the kids. The dedicated trams will be re-branded 'The Lifeboatman' for the day.

There are two tram tours — both departing from East Croydon — at 12.15 pm and 3.15pm. Lifeboat ticket holders will be able to travel on the London Tramlink network for the whole day on 8 May enabling easy access to East Croydon.

And did you know it's London Lifeboat Day? Amazingly, Tower and Chiswick lifeboat stations are two of the busiest hubs for the RNLI. Watch out for fundraisers at your station on the way home tonight. You will know them by their lifejackets. If you don't spot a collector and can't make the tram tour you can support RNLI by texting RNLI to 70300 to donate £5 towards saving lives at sea and on the River Thames.

The Grand Tram Tour takes place on Sunday 8 May. Tickets for the trip cost £15 adults, £10 children (aged under 12 years) and are available in person from Croydon Visitor Centre, Station Approach, East Croydon; Matthews Jewellers in West Wickham, and Hayes Electronics in Hayes. Alternatively, for ticket details call Chris on 07928 538750.
