- The experimental theatrical experience that is Spill Festival ends on Sunday. Themed around 'infection' this weekend's performances are from 12 emerging artists. And there's a big late on Saturday... more of that down there.
- It's the London International Ska Festival at Clapham Grand (and we've been looking forward to it since January!)
- A Dying Artist is an exploration of materiality, corporeality, death and dying bodies in art at the ICA. Friday's mainly about illness, Saturday about death. Er... happy Easter. Tonight till Saturday. Tickets £8 for each part.
- A weekend's worth of indie film is free to see or £2 a pop at Shortwave, Bermondsey for the final 2 days of the London Independent Film Festival.
- And geeks ahoy, the Sci-Fi London Film Festival starts on Saturday.
- Have you see the butterflies at Natural History Museum yet? Just £3.50 to go in the tunnel, £12 for a family.
- East London's Digital Stages festival showcases technology in performance, be it dance, theatre or live art. There are performances, workshops, talks and more, various venues, 22-27 April. Check the programme.
- It's the opening weekend of the Southbank Festival of Britain. Watch out for our preview of the thing — which goes on till September — tomorrow.
- And finally, in case you missed them, here are our suggestions for family friendly activities all the Easter holidays.
Good Friday
- Join the pagan Earth Day Ritual in Trent Park, north London (near Cockfosters Tube, the very end of the Piccadilly Line), 2-5pm. Expect altar building, drumming and chanting, litter picking, meditation and merriment.
- Roll eggs down Primrose Hill in the annual Lost and Found Egg Roll from 2pm. And in the interests of inclusivity and diversity, it's not just about eggs this year. Anything that can roll, or be put in a tasty roll, may be rolled. Think outside the 'eggy-box'. After party till late at Fluid, Charterhouse Street too.
- Who needs to go abroad for that package holiday experience? Get to Bethnal Green Working Men's Club for a night on the Costa del Fuego Shaun for guilty pleasures, holiday rep games and live performance. £4 adv, £5 door.
- Start a full on clubbing weekend at the Get Diverted Good Friday Terrace Party as recommended by Spoonfed. From 2pm till late, enjoy a hot tub, barbecue and beats. At Dex Club, SW9.
St George's Saturday
- Trafalgar Square tries to muster enthusiasm for the patron saint of England's day with music 1-6pm, including an appearance by Alfie Boe. Free!
- Play croquet in Victoria Park with Croquet East from 2.30pm.
- If you couldn't fathom out an actual show to see at SPILL fest, go to the SPILL Late at Barbican from 6pm till midnight and free.
- Pop Goes The Weasel at Camino, Kings Cross is free and recommended by Spoonfed "classic rock, pop and indie.... good music meets good dancing".
- Lovebox does disco at Village Underground and Spoonfed say "possibly the best line-up of disco DJs you'll see all year." 10pm-6am, £12 advance.
Easter Sunday
- Take a free guided tour of Brompton Cemetery at 2pm.
- Pump Up The Volume host a free all afternoon to evening do at the Lock Tavern, NW1.
- Did you get a place on the Fire Hazard Southbank game?
- It's Buttoned Down Disco's dinky Easter special at Relentless Garage, Highbury. Free entry before 10pm but invite only... you know the score.
- If you like your raving large, try the Junk Department warehouse party in Mayfair, 10pm-6am, £20.
Bank Holiday Monday
- Watch out ladies of Greenwich, as is traditional, Blackheath Morris Men will be grabbing you and lifting you in a chair from 12.30pm. Possible explanation here.
- The London Harness Horse Parade takes place at — er — Ardingly in Sussex. There used to be two parades of working horses, the London Cart Horse Parade, which was founded in 1885, and the London Van Horse Parade, which was founded in 1904. They've been merged now into one super parade of harness horses, ponies and donkeys. The South of England showground isn't too far from London if you can bear to hop on a train. Just 45 minutes to Haywards Heath and a short bus or taxi ride.
- If you took advantage of the double bank holiday and don't have to be at work on Tuesday, you can afford to go to Pop Musik at Soho's Barcode from 7pm till late for "a cheerful bunch of people, amazing drink offers and a dose of the best pop tracks from the 80's, 90's and 00's." And it's free to get in.
