Preview: Royal Alleycat Bicycle Treasure Hunt

This Friday get on your bike to celebrate your day off with the Royal Alleycat Bicycle Treasure Hunt. Dress up in royal garb for extra points, raise money for charity, cycle and solve clues to complete themed tasks and compete for prizes.

Alleycat races are traditionally fast-paced competitive races involving cycle couriers but we are assured this will be a more genteel affair. Co-organiser Ben Broomfield said: ‘It isn’t a race, it’s a treasure hunt, which means completing tasks and relaxing in what will hopefully be sunshine!’

Outfits could be inspired by Royalty & Crowns, Kings & Queens, Will & Kate, or Purple & Gold. Ben will take royal photographic portraits of participants on their very own throne during the treasure hunt. Riders can form teams or ride solo, following clues through London to an after party at a secret location, complete with drinks and homemade nibbles. Prizes for best dressed and alleycat challenges are courtesy of female cycle fashion label Cyclodelic, the Bicycle Film Festival, Condor Cycles and Fixed Gear London.

To register for the treasure hunt, click ‘attend’ on the event’s Facebook page. Entry is £5, and all proceeds go to children’s cancer charity Trekstock.
