Preview: Land of Kings Festival, Dalston 28-29 April

Now that we know it's OK to be normal in Shoreditch, perhaps it's time to face the Dalston hipsters with your head held high. Prove it's OK to be unscenester in E8 by joining the two night bender that is Land of Kings this week.

Named for its Kingsland Road home don't be fooled into thinking you can escape the Royal Wedding at this multi-venue music and arts festival. You'll find a right royal 'knees up' via tea with the Dalston Darlings Women’s Insitute at the Dalston roof garden, fine (secret) banqueting with the Rebel Dining Society, the Royal Wedding Voodoo Remix party at Stoke Newington International Airport with themed cabaret and Kate Middleton burlesque and a gaming saloon cum interactive art experience in the Bunker, named - of course - Prince William Hill.

Monarchy themed revels aside there are 15 venues on board for music, including a 'History of Hackney' jungle revival and there are cool films at the Rio plus art and video installations to discover.

Land of Kings runs Thursday 28 and Friday 29 April from 6pm. Limited tickets available £10-19.
