We probably flag up the work of UCL's Centre or Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) a little more regularly than unbiased editorial would dictate but, heck, they're just so damn creative. This latest visualisation from the academic team shows the ebb and flow of London's public transport — or at least the Tube, rail, coach, boat and bus networks. The animation is based on nothing more complex than official timetables, yet paints a dynamic picture of a city waking up. Strangely hypnotic.
