Go here for the ‘pie of the day’ from Borough Market and an excellent pint of Shepherd Neame’s beers.

- Guinea3P_sl.jpg (Mayfair)
There’s been a pub here since the 15th century and the time-proven combination of award-winning pies and Young’s beer are fantastic.

- Newman Arms (Fitzrovia)
Tiny pub with an upstairs ‘Pie Room’ – probably the best pies in London, in our opinion.

- The Royal Oak (Borough)
Outpost of Suffolk Brewery Harveys with great pies on the menu every day to complement the great beer.

- The Camel (Bethnal Green)
A pub we’ve known for a few years now that has maintained an excellent standard for their pie menu and their interesting beers.

Honourable mention must also go to the Globe, on the corner of Moorgate and London Wall. Though I’d advise giving it a miss on Friday lunchtimes, because they’re very busy. The service is so great they’ll take the time to tell you how busy they are, though. :)

How can The Kenton be up there when the pies pre bought and served with the most watery lumpy mash I have ever had. What about all those wonderful pubs with homemade pies?

Rather far out east perhaps but The Black Lion in Plastow is worth a visit. Great food cooked on the premises, for a very reasonable price. Sells good beer and has a nice beer garden too. I used to work near by and miss it greatly. http://www.blacklionplaistow.co.uk

Just to be clear, this is not a random recommendation. They do make and sell great pie :-)

Melton Mowbray (Farringdon) and The Old Bank of England (Fleet Street)?!! Seriously?! – this is the least researched list I’ve seen in a long time!

I second the Bree Louise as a massive oversight on this list … not just great pies, but great beers to boot!
