Given we've a smashing Beach Volleyball Venue lined up for sandy Horse Guards Parade it's good news today that our men and women's beach volleyball teams have been approved by the British Olympic Association for the opportunity to take up host nation places at London 2012.
The teams must meet rigorous selection criteria laid down by British Volleyball and continue to perform well on the World Beach Tour. Should they succeed, it will be the first time Britain has competed in the sport since it was introduced to the Olympics in Atlanta 1996.
The British women's team is particularly strong, and there's a chance a second female team could be fielded, if they kick enough ass and obtain a top 16 ranking in the coming months.
So that's all the volleyball teams in. We await decisions on Team GB handball, water polo and basketball.
